Research

I have contributed to research projects on various policy, historical, and sociological themes, assisting scholars preparing major reports and course curricula, editors planning issues of journals and magazines, and industry representatives surveying the public policy landscape.

Editing

I have done all levels of editing work, from conceptual and structural editing of major essays in policy journals down to line and copy editing major reports. I have served as editor-in-chief of community publications, soliciting pieces and receiving pitches, and shaping content strategy.

Consulting

I do creative consulting for writers, media professionals, and others on civic, bipartisan, and historical projects. These have often included authors writing books, and editors and podcasters looking to shape their media projects.

I do strategic consulting, including event consulting and program development consulting, for various organizations working to run civic and bipartisan events and programs.
